Founded in 2010, Ensemble Mini is a critically-acclaimed group of 15 soloists from the great symphonic orchestras playing the great symphonic works in new formats. Its mission is to reach new audiences through new style, sound and setting - without dumbing down - addressing the change needed in classical music.

Revolutionary projects have included "mini-Mahler" at Philharmonie Berlin, "Strauss 150: New Perspectives" at STATTBAD Berlin and "Bartók Beyond Borders" at Musikbrauerei Berlin. It has collaborated artists such as Marlis Petersen, Gerhild Romberger, Tanja Tetzlaff, Ruth Ziesak, Ferhan & Ferzan Önder, Regula Mühlemann and Evelina Dobraceva. Recent guest performances have included Konzerthaus Berlin (Debussy), Budapest Palace of Arts (Bartók), Auditorio Nacional Madrid and Essener Philharmonie (Mahler).

The ensemble has been reviewed and featured widely in German media (such as 3sat Kulturzeit, ZDF Aspekte, rbb and WDR 3) and has recorded several live concerts for Deutschlandfunk Kultur and RBB Kulturradio. In late 2014, Ensemble Mini released its debut CD of our world premiere arrangement of Mahler's 9th Symphony. More recently, Ensemble Mini recorded Debussy's La Mer and Strauss' Rosenkavlier Suite for RBB Kulturradio's Musiksalon. The ensemble's follow-up CD, the world premiere reconstruction for ensemble of Mahler's 10th Symphony, will be released in summer 2019.
