Karsiyaka Municipality Saygun Quartet is formed by the principal players of Karşıyaka Chamber Orchestra from Izmir, Turkey. Since their debuts in 2015, they have been giving many concerts all around Turkey, including main concert halls of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. They played Elgar’s 'Introduction and Allegro' with the famous conductor Rengim Gökmen. They performed many concerts with the pianist Gülsin Onay and also worked on Fazıl Say’s quartet in his presence and got his support.

The quartet won the first price of the 'International Ulvi Yücelen Chamber Music Competition' in Ankara (2016). The group also was one of the four remaining candidates selected for the final of the '15th International Chamber Music Competition of Almere' in Holland. In summer 2017, they got accepted to the 'Zeister Muziekdagen', a festival and masterclass organized in Zeist (Holland). They had the chance to work with the members of the Jerusalem Quartet, Casals Quartet and Cuartetto Quiroga. Saygun Quartet also had the opportunity to give seven concerts during those two weeks.

In November 2017, the quartet performed on air at the prestigious NDR Kultur, taking part to the radio broadcast 'Podium der Jungen'.

Besides its concerts in Turkey and in Europe, Saygun Quartet is studying in the Master Degree Program (with specialization in chamber music) at the Hannover Musik Hochschule, in Prof. Oliver Wille’s class.
