Enthusiastic hobby singers get together on the festival weekdays at Everyman’s Choir. They have a great time doing something together – sharing their passion for singing. Together with choir director Alexander Lueken they work on pieces that enrich every amateur singer’s repertoire, while not overwhelming anyone who attends.
Rehearsals are from Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd, from 9:09 – 10:09 a.m. at the St. Johannis Church. Everyone is welcome, admission is free! On Saturday, August 3rd, at 11 a.m., rehearsal will be followed by Händel for Everyone! – the performance of the final chorus of Georg Friedrich Handel’s “Messiah” in Hitzacker’s St. Johannis Church.
For more advanced singers, Alexander Lueken will be working on more complex a cappella material (and singing tenor!) with a small vocal ensemble in our “Pros and Friends” program. Alexander Lueken studied choir direction with Marcus Creed and is the director of the Young Chamber Choir of Cologne.
Rehearsals for the ensemble will be one hour daily from Monday, July 29th to Friday, August 2nd. The cost of the 5-day course is 50 Euros per person. Members of the Society of Friends of the Hitzacker Summer Festival have free admission (and by the way, membership only costs 50 Euros a year).
