Works by Chopin, Satie, Debussy and Say

Characteristic of the Turkish pianist Fazil Say is his passion for scrutinising and overcoming boundaries that others have set. Be it in cultural or political questions, in traditional interpretations or at the intersection of serious and entertaining music – this composer and renowned keyboard magician, passionate chamber musician, jazz musician and author cannot be reduced to one category. The solo program he has chosen for Hitzacker will reflect this, with a French accent.

21.00 – VERDO Concert Hall
Mädchenchor Hannover (Girls’ Choir of Hannover)
Tickets online

Songs by Brahms, Poulenc, Schumann, Reger, Herzogenberg, Debussy, Ravel, Eben and Young Pioneer songs – followed by a musical stroll under the boundless evening skies.

The Girls’ Choir of Hannover, founded in 1952, is among the most interesting vocal ensembles in Europe. Major contemporary composers have dedicated works to or been commissioned by the choir. These include Toshio Hosokawa, Arvo Pärt, Steffen Schleiermacher and Peter Eötvös. At their concert and the walk that follows, Romantic songs of the night will be contrasted with the East German tradition of Young Pioneer songs.
