György Ligeti (1923–2006): Trio für Violine, Horn und Klavier, Hommage an Brahms
Johannes Brahms (1833–1897): Trio für Violine, Horn und Klavier Es-Dur op. 40
The celebrated star violinist Isabelle Faust, who last performed in Hitzacker in 2020, and the Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov enjoy a long-standing reputation as a duo of maximum stylistic and tonal sensibility. Their approach to the works of the Viennese Classic period, for example, open up new listening experiences. Their program ranges from a Mozart sonata to trios woven together to celebrate the 100th birthday of György Ligeti, Hitzacker's portrait composer in 1987. They bring along Johannes Hinterholzer, the Camerata Salzburg's solo horn and their favorite wind instrumentalist.

Nine Past Nine: Killer Instincts
The soprano Sarah Maria Sun is a very welcome guest at the Summer Festival. This year she is performing a highly unique program with a band – The Gurks. "Killer Instincts" holds up a mirror, at once vicious and entertaining, to the evil in this world, with musical virtuosity and without respect for genre borders, presenting songs or Lieder from Tom Waits to Franz Schubert, from Randy Newman to Kurt Weill, from Leonard Bernstein to Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
