The Kuss Quartet completes their mission on behalf of Mozart's unfairly neglected string quintets with yet another musical partner. Garth Knox, the Paris-based Irish composer and violist and former member of the Arditti String Quartet is not only an outstanding chamber musician but also a maximally perceptive wanderer between the worlds of Old and New Music – perfect for the mature Mozart's noble chamber music for strings. In the midst of this, the Kuss Quartet draws attention to its current CD production "Krise" that takes its title and its focus from a work of the same name, composed in 2021 for the ensemble by the prizewinning composer Birke Jasmin Bertelsmeier. "Crisis as a culmination and a creeping constriction of perception, where even positive and happy moments take on a different form and should best be quickly left behind."
